- Normally, a large double bed is provided, but if you prefer twin beds please let
us know in advance.
- The cottage is available from 4.00 p.m. on the Friday of your arrival until 12 a.m.
on the following Friday.
- Fridays have been chosen for the changeover as Lymington’s Saturday market, one of
the oldest in England, is so popular.
- This small Georgian town is the main shopping centre, apart from the East Boldre
post office and stores and the small shops in Beaulieu.
- The hills of the Isle of Wight dominate the horizon to the south. The Solent is less
than a mile away and there are good beaches at Lepe and Milford on Sea.
- Lymington ferry has frequent crossings to Yarmouth, Isle of Wight.
- Myrtle is a working farm. Fresh free-range eggs can usually be supplied and we are
happy to explain how a traditional commoners’ holding is run.
- Beaulieu Abbey and St Paul’s (East Boldre) are Anglican churches. The Roman Catholic
and United Reformed churches are in Lymington.
- There are two convenient pubs with good reputations for food and hospitality: the
East End Arms at East End and the Turfcutters Arms at East Boldre. The Fleur De Lys
at Pilley is one of the oldest in England.
- There is a limited time between changeovers for cleaning, so we would appreciate
your leaving the cottage as neat and tidy as possible.
